World Fantasy -palkintoehdokkaat ja Gemmell-palkintojen voittajat 2014

World Fantasy -palkintoehdokkaat on valittu vuoden 2013 julkaistujen teosten joukosta. Joitain pitempiä teoksia on tullut luettua ja novelleistakin Hugo-ehdokkaana olevat, ja täytyy sanoa, etten ihan ymmärrä Samatarin Selkie Stories Are For Losersin ja Swirskyn If You Were a Dinosaur, My Loven suosiota. Kumpikaan ei kolistele ainakaan minun päässäni. Toissa vuonna olin ehtinyt lukea useita kokoelmia, mutta viime vuonna jäi vähemmälle, ja yleensäkin Swirskyn kokoelma on hankittunakaan näistä ehdokkaista. Lukutilastojen perusteella ensi vuosi on vielä synkempi. Palkinnot jaetaan marraskuun toisena viikonloppuna World Fantasy -conissa.

Tämä on avoin yleisöäänestys, joten voittajien voidaan sanoa saaneen kannatusta kansan syvistä riveistä. Mark Lawrencelle tuli tänä vuonna tuplavoitto.
