2013 Nebula, Ray Bradbury ja Andre Norton -palkintoehdokkaat

Amerikan science fiction ja fantasia -kirjailijoiden järjestön, SFWA:n vuoden 2013 julkaisutarjonnasta valitsemat Nebula-, Ray Bradbury ja Andre Norton -palkintoehdokkaat on julkaistu. Palkintojen saajat julkaistaan toukokuussa ja valitsijoina ovat SFWAn jäsenet eli kirjailijat jakavat tunnustusta kollegoilleen.

Romaaneista olen lukenut Gaimanin ja Leckien teokset ja molemmille ennakoin ehdokkuuksia. Sofia Samatarin  A Stranger in Olondrian hankin viime vuoden lopulla Jo Waltonin suositeltua kirjailijaa Sweconissa. Valitettavasti en ole vielä ehtinyt lukemaan kirjaa muutamaa lukua pidemmälle. Myös Helene Weckerin The Golem and the Jinni on ollut lukulistalla kuukausia. Sivuhuomiona mainittakoon, että ehdokaskirjoista kuusi kahdeksasta on naisten kirjoittamia, mikä SFWA:n kohujen keskellä on myönteinen seikka. Pienoisromaaneista vain Catherynne M. Valenten teos on luettuna ja siihen ihastuinkin kohtalaisen paljon. Ray Bradbury -ehdokkaista olen nähnyt tällä kertaa vain kolme. Pitänee tutustua vielä Europa Reportiin, Heriin ja Pacific Rimiin.
